During a week, Sheraton Deva welcomed three artists; two from Bourail, Ito Waïa and Abraham Gorodite; and one from New-Zealand, sculpture teacher at the University of Waikato (New-Zealand). The mixed trade union Grandes Fougères offered them a 50m length houp trunk, which with they made a handsome and unique statue.
The goal of this project initiated by the culture of South Province direction, is the connection and sharing between Kanak and Maori cultures. Sheraton Deva already offers to discover local art, that is why it has automatically been associated to this incredible experience by offering space and comfort to create in senerity.
You will discover this statue, which resides now in the hotel area, during your trip.
